Director
Brandon Hixson
Mr. Brandon Hixson is the Director of Bands at Dawson ISD. He is a
graduate of the Dawson High School Class of 1996. After High School,
Brandon continued his education at East Texas Baptist University, where
he met is loving wife, Karen. After college, Mr. Hixson became the
Director of the Tatum High School Band, where he stayed for 1 year. Soon
after that, the Hixson moved back to Brandon's hometown of Dawson. He
became the Band Director in 2004. Mrs. Hixson also scored a job at
Dawson ISD as the Spanish teacher. Soon after that, their son Caleb Even
was born. As of now, Brandon and Karen are still employees of the Dawson
Independent School District and have no plans of leaving. Your students
appreciate all you two do for us and we love you dearly!
Drum Majors
Andrea Crutchfield
Andrea Crutchfield is the Drum Major of the Dawson High School Band.
She plays the clarinet and has been actively involved in the Dawson ISD
music program since 6th grade. This is Andrea's first year as Drum
Major. She is a Sophomore.
Cameron Shaw
Cameron Shaw is the Assistant Drum Major of the Dawson High School
Band. He plays the Mellophone/French Horn and has been actively involved
in the Dawson ISD music program since 6th grade. He also excels in
Yearbook, One Act Play, and FCA. After High School he has plans to
attend Tyler Junior College and participate in their Music program.
Cameron was also the Drum Major last year.
